Blog-cation

Please excuse the blog-cation I've been on for...well the entire summer! But I'm back, or at least that's the plan :) Husband had to go back to work today. After two full months of sharing the house with him all day, it's weird being alone. Alone with my thoughts. So I blog again! And get back to cleaning, planning, and answering my phone again--I'm seriously horrible at this but I'm working on it!

I hate that my summer is on its way out, but the laziness does need to come to an end. The planner is returning and my pens are ready! My tan is fading already. I see paleness returning in my near future :/ but in its place, students return, traffic increases, and the fun begins!

In the mean time, I've decided to read the book of Mark. Sometimes I think I've heard all the stories and get complacent. But today something that I've read so many times struck me.

"In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him." - Mark 1: 9 & 10

The image of the heavens being torn just amazes me. I love how it contrasts the beauty of the Spirit descending like a dove. I love the foreshadowing of the curtain being torn in two (Mark 15) upon Christ's death of the cross. I love that I'm no longer separated from God, but my debt has been paid!

Beauty instead of ashes :)
